All anglers aged 14 and up are required to buy a license to fish in Montana. For Non Residents, licenses are sold in blocks of either 2 or 10 days.  The cost is $25 per 2 days OR $56 per 10 days.  Additionally, a Conservation License must be purchased each year for $10.  Season-long fishing licenses are also available for $86.  Non-Resident kids aged 1-13 are not required to purchase a license provided they are accompanied by an adult who does have a valid MT fishing license. Licenses can be purchased online through the above link or at local fly shops and sporting good stores.

Yellowstone National Park Fishing Licenses

Yellowstone National Park has its own fishing license that is required for fishing within the park.  The license may be purchased within the park or at many flyshops in the communities that border the park.  Licenses are available for 3 days, 10 days, or the Season.  The prices are $18, $25, and $40 respectively.

Glacier National Park Fishing Licenses

Glacier National Park does not require a fishing license.  Be sure to pick up a regulations booklet, however, as rules vary on different waterways throughout the park.
